Electric Gate Safety
We take Electric Gate Safety seriously. We test each automatic gate that we install so that it meets the highest safety requirements. There are numerous health, safety, and risk hazards of swing gates. They are heavy machinery and should be respected as such. An accident involving an automated swing gate can result in serious injury and in very rare cases, death.
Swing gates work with the assistance of the swing gate operators, which can be mechanical devices, hydraulic or electronic. Swing gates are not only common in the residential areas but they are also becoming common at the airports where strict access controls are required. The use of an automated swing gate means you can operate the gate remotely from the comfort of your vehicle, especially during unideal weather conditions.
Swing Gate Safety
All of the gates manufactured by Automation and Security are implemented with industry-standard safety components. During the handover, we will always brief the owner on the possible risks and any safety precautions which should be taken. These include:
- Do not try to pass through the gates when they are moving, wait until the gates are fully open
- Do not stop unnecessarily between the gates
- Do not allow children to play near the gates
- Keep all remote control operating devices out of the reach of children
- Do not operate the gates by remote control unless the gates are in view
- Do not attempt to impede the movement of the gates during operation
- Report any signs of malfunction immediately to Automation and Security
- In the case of any malfunction, isolate the power supply. Release any electric/automatic lock, open the gates manually and call Automation and Security
- Do not attempt to modify the gates or the gate automation system.

By observing these health and safety guidelines, you can protect personnel safety as well as prolonging the working life of your swing gate. If you identify any malfunction or defects of your swing gates, please immediately get in touch with Automation and Security via 0191 456 33 99 and speak with one of our experienced engineers.
